Happy Father’s Day to all the dads over seas. I was certainly not expecting to be doing long runs at the moment, but such is life! Nice to get another couple of hours of pram time in with this one.
Even nicer to run in to team Hood, Wendy & Craig doing the #bloodylongwalk ! Weather = perfect, legs = shagged

#FunFriday before work, went for another #TennisSession to take advantage of the NJ Summer and to ease off mind from the training that I'm planning to get going.
On the #Tennis 🎾 side of things, overal happy with this additional fun and how this activity helps my footwork, hip rotation and leg spring amongst others.
The more relaxed and flexed, the least of energy wasted and bigger power output through whole body rotation versus just upper body... Amazing Sport!!! Quite cloudy and bit windy. And for days like these, I bring out my @rokasports TL which has lens to contrast and bring out colors, making you want to have them on, where people look at you weird on why one has "sunglasses" on its not sunny... #FindFaster#AnythingIsPossible@schieksportsinc#WhatTheProsWear
Bike 65k, swim a mile;
always better with a smile!
In the lake, down the trails,
dodging squirrels and deer;
Long training days in the heat
will finish with burgers and beer.
Doing hard things, getting outside,
the road sets my heart free;
With joy and grit I’ll never quit
While training for this 70.3. 😃 #ironman703#tritraining#bettysquad19
Our tenth Lake Pflugerville Tri is imminent, which is also our second race in 8 days. There's been a heck of a lot in between. Real talk right now? I'm simply ready for it to be over. Usually, this race is either the beginning or the end of a season, and right now, it's in the middle of something that hasn't really started yet. Feels weird, man.
I know how to fix it, thankfully. Caffeine up, kit up, show up, and don't give up. I've got about eighty minutes of kicking arse tomorrow morning on the weekend's to do list, and once I check that off, I can chill out and just go play bikes for a while.
Ok, deep breaths. If you’ve been waiting for that perfect kit, check out this hot number by @dixiedevilsports. Pre-Orders through June 22nd will receive a 20% discount 🤩. Visit http://www.dixiedevil.com/triathlon to grab yours!!
Beneath the surface of the nice little girl who does yoga and will go out of her way to help you lies someone who is determined and hungry.
Getting closer to IMLP....most of the work is done. And trust me, a couple of weeks of down time will follow it, including family time and our annual pilgrimage to the happiest place on earth to see the mouse.
But this is also when I start to look around. Back where I was, where I am currently, and the direction I am headed. Instead of feeling the fatigue that often accompanies the period of training I am in, I get energized by possibilities. And when I get energized, I get hungry.
And when you want something that bad...the only way of getting closer to achieving it is to get further from your comfort zone.
So, what are you hungry for? And what is the first step you are going to take to move toward it?
Getting ready for race day

A new season is coming up, and one of the things we need to think about is the distance of our focus races. When it comes to year-round swim training, the difference between training for a sprint and a full-distance race isn’t profound, but for optimal preparation, you want to focus some of your swim training on the distances you plan to hit as those races approach.

Less than 24 hours until my first race of the season. Fired up to be racing IM 70.3 Hawaii and can't wait to light it up on the bike course with this masterful piece of engineering. Huge thanks to @feltbicycles and @vision_tech_usa for all of their support over the years and to @northshoreroad for helping source some of the final pieces for this build. More detail about the new build after the race. Good luck to everyone else racing back in BC this weekend.

Turn those race day jitters into hives 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Easier said then done, right? 😏 And while I may not be racing this weekend, I am volunteering Eagleman🙌🏻 So whilst you’re tangoing your tango with your numero uno, your steel companion, your two wheeler 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️ I’ll be cheering you (and everybody else racing this weekend) on at the first bike aid station🤙🏻 Go get them dreams!
Holy heck this was FUN today! Couldn’t think of a better way to kick start my birth week🥳🥳 Cheering on all the triathletes 15 miles in at aid station number one 🚴🏻♀️ at Eagleman🙌🏻 Handing out Gatorade, yelling motivation and just being in awe of each and every body that zoomed past me. The swim may of been cancelled for the athletes today but I could see they were all still out there having a great time and winning themselves that coveted Ironman bling at the finish 🤙🏻 #eagleman703#ironmantri
