Mississippi is back to it’s regularly scheduled programming, when it’s comes to the weather, but I didn’t let that stop me from enjoying what was the longest run I’ve done since my January marathon! My body wanted to take it even easier than normal today. There was a time I wouldn’t have done that but “know better, do better” so I went with it and enjoyed this run so much! Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day to all you dads!
Sunday Seven! Bucks County Edition! My planned 7 miles around Tyler State Park was crushed when I got to the entrance and noticed the gates were closed and the sign said it didn’t open until 8:30... I’ve got miles to run, ain’t nobody got time for that! Core Creek Park for a mixed run around the entire park just trying to log miles. #runbucks#runbucksco#optoutside
When @gccarlson18 asks you to meet her for a long run at 4:30am, you go! 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️ 16 miles done by 7am and our 50 mile training is off to a good start! 👏🏻 Now we get to go watch everyone else run the Branford road race! 🙌🏻
While Double Dipsea is not a long race by any means, it is the most challenge course I have ever ran. The combination of gnarly terrain, ridiculous amounts of stairs and runners flying at you on single-track trail make it more difficult than any marathon I have completed. I was devastated last year when I got my first DNF at this event... I was beyond frustrated with myself as I missed the cutoff by only 2 minutes and was pulled from the course. I came back for the 50th Anniversary this year in hopes of finding redemption. I was lucky to be surrounded by amazing friends at both the start and finish lines and I am happy to say that I made it this year! I also think that I am ready to say goodbye to this course now that I have officially earned my DD medal. #thosestairsthough#doubledipsea#brazenracing#mermaidathlete#mermaidambassador#nuunlove#nuunlife#nuunambassador#runner#trailrunning#illsticktoroadrunning#redemptionrace
Leadville marathon! A few days ago I ran an local 8k race that either stirred up bad allergies or possibly Ebola 🙄. Past few days of wheezing and sneezing left me trying to decide if I would cheer on so many great people including @squirrelgirl44 and Ariel! I followed through and ran the marathon under very less than ideal health. I’m so happy I was able to get solid time on feet in such an always iconic town. Leadville always draws so many athletes and people you haven’t seen in so long. Congrats to everyone today who toed the line and so great to see everyone!

To find the right plan is just as hard as looking for its sound justification
Too many days I overthink. I plan and re-plan. My type A personality goes into overdrive
Am I doing things right?
Am I the man I’m supposed to be?
Will my kids be proud of my actions?
Am I living the life I want to live?
And on and on and on
It’s really hard to block out all of the contrasting voices in my head. But when something in my head clicks, I have these fleeting moments of clarity. And it’s all I need. It’s NOT a voice telling me I’m on the right path. It’s NOT a clear signal saying carry on. But IT IS a moment of happiness. And if I can have those tiny moments, even if it’s just once in a while, then i know I AM living the life I’m meant to live and that my “mix-matched, patchworked, hope this is the right thing to do” roller-coaster of a life is MY life. And I’m doing just fine in my plans
and I can breathe again
I can relax in knowing those decisions that I’ve doubted are still leading me down the right path
And I can enjoy the moments like this one
Because it is a moment of happiness...a moment for me
Well that was a first. It’s rained all day and the forecast for tomorrow doesn’t look good at all. Got a window to squeeze in 8 miles so at 9pm I took off. I’m not used to starting in light and ending in dark. It’s usually the other way around. Wasn’t the greatest run but I got it in and now I don’t have to worry about trying to do it tomorrow. #teamnuun#nuunlife#hshive#runner#riseandgrind#instarunners

@sugardaddymarathon is definitely one of my favorite races to do. Especially when you share it with friends.
Our friends from @NuunHydration will be joining us all weekend at Timber! offering low sugar, no artificial ingredient water supplements to keep you hydrated. Nuun will be by your side during the festival, whether you're kayaking, paddleboarding, running in REI's 5k, or just filling your water bottle and relaxing by the mainstage. #stayhydrated#nuunlife
“Enjoying success requires the ability to adapt. Only by being open to change will you have a true opportunity to get the most from your talent.” -Nolan Ryan
Change is guaranteed, it’s our job to adapt accordingly. Once the sun came out & brought the heat, it was time to adapt. Even if something starts off badly, a little adaptation can make the difference.

Clear skies, bike rides & Black Tusks make for a wheelie fun training day
Without a doubt, I had no business getting a pair of @nikerunning Vapor Flys. I haven’t even broken 200 miles for the year and any speed I’ve gained is pretty much gone. But a good deal is a good deal and curiosity got the best of me. Apparently I DID need these shoes though, because my feet remembered how to fly and my heart soared at the possibility of truly becoming #fasterasamaster . Somebody give me a goal and LET’S GOOOOOOOO!
