He jerked on the brakes to avoid the small body that lay in the middle of the road. With squealing tires, the car came to a halt to the side and he jumped out of the car and ran to the motionless body, which could only belong to a child. He knelt down next to him and turned the little girl on the back. It was already dark, so it took him a few seconds to make sure she was still breathing. He had been a doctor before giving up his work as a result of an accident. That's why he did not immediately call an ambulance, rather wanted to get a first idea of the condition of the little ones. When she moved slowly and winked at him with narrowed eyes, he smiled worriedly at her. "Hey little girl! Hey are you alright? What happened?" She just shook her head, frowning. She could not have been more than six years old, though he had never been good at treasuring. He stroked her head reassuringly. "Can you tell me your name?" She thought for a moment, then groaned as she tried to sit up and grabbed the back of her head. "Layla, my name is Layla," she breathed. "Layla, where are you from Layla?" he asked further. She did not seem to be hurt so much. "I ... I'm from Asgard ..." she stammered. "Loki ... where is Loki? He's in danger, I know, I have to go to him ... I have to see if he's okay ..." Maybe she was hurt? He had already heard of Asgard ... but only in nordic mythology. However, in recent months he had seen and experienced so much that was impossible, that he was even willing to believe that Layla came from Asgard. "All right, Layla from Asgard. You're here on earth. If you want, I'll take you with me first, then we'll see. Otherwise I'd have to take you to a hospital ..." She did not let him go on. "Please, I just want to go home, back to my fa-" She faltered. Maybe her family did not want her to come back? Odin had not looked like she had accidentally fallen out of the stream.
Tears came to her eyes. How could you lose everything in a moment?
