Nutrition. Such a hard thing for so many people. Which is why some follow Keto, or vegan, or paleo, Mediterranean, Atkins, low-fat, gluten-free, Whole 30 or Carnivore... the list goes on and on. And while yes, some people have medical conditions that need to follow these (I am gluten free!), most of us just need BALANCE. •
Couldn’t be more grateful for now eating to FUEL my body through portion control. I eat ALL foods and I mean... ALL the food 😂 But I do so in a way that is the right amount for me! Carbs, proteins, healthy fats... it’s all a part of what our bodies need. And spending time to portion these things out and prep for my week is how I feel I have FINALLY been able to be successful! 👌🏼 Does this mean I never indulge? Of course not, there’s a time and place for that (such as the cheesecake and french fries I had for my dad’s birthday last night 😜) but I am able to get back to my portions today and feel good about it! We all need food, so why not go about it in a way that makes us FEEL good?! #sundaymealprep#portioncontrol

Let Her Fly: A Father’s Journey // Ziauddin Yousafzai with Louise Carpenter
“Whenever anybody has asked me how Malala became who she is, I have often used the response “Ask me not what I did but what I did not do. I did not clip her wings.” … When I say of Malala “I did not clip her wings,” what I mean is that when she was small, I broke the scissors used by society to clip girls’ wings. I did not let those scissors near Malala.”
Thank you @malalafund for this beautiful book (a fitting read for Father’s Day). I had already read #IAmMalala & it was of course incredible. This one provides another look at this journey through a different lens. What especially astounded me was #ZiauddinYousafzai ’s humility. Chapters focused in on the strength & work of his father, his wife, his sons, & of course #Malala . Ziauddin is an impressive advocate & activist, but takes very little credit for what he has accomplished. He continues to uplift others & provide us a guide to the types of dispositions that create change.
Yesterday I LEAPED out of my comfort zone and attended a local teacher meetup! 💫 When I left the house and told my husband how nervous I was he said “have fun and talk to people”. 😂 I shouldn’t have even worried! This community is full of welcoming, kind, amazing teachers. 🧡 We had a great time sharing tips, tricks, ideas and experiences and I met some pretty amazing women! I was even inspired to co-host an event when I’m visiting family in Maine next month! 🎉
✨As part of a Design and Technology unit, my class were required to make wind powered vehicles out of whatever materials we had lying around (e.g. cardboard, straws, paper etc.)
✨I absolutely LOVE messy construction activities because it is by far the best time my students have in the classroom! You can see their brains working to problem solve design and building issues, it truly is wonderful to watch!
✨Here are my students from a few years ago testing out their vehicles by racing them on the hard court (swipe to see the race!)

Are you in grad school? Does your state require you to complete a Masters degree? What program are you working on or did you complete? What are your long term goals? I usually only enroll in my program in the summer months because it is too much during the school year. I still don’t know how I survived a full year of student teaching and being a full time student! Congrats to everyone that graduated this year! 💕

Sooo very grateful for this wonderful guy who is an amazing father to Taylor 💕❤️💕...singing Daniel Tiger songs with her, acting out animals before brushing teeth, and letting Tay teach him ballet moves (in her kinda bossy ways 😅) , reading stories and only skipping *some* pages ☺️ 💕 And so grateful for the men who raised Jack and I (and now Tay!) with so much love, patience and silliness 💕❤️ Happy Father’s Day to all the guys, dads, grandpas, brothers, teachers, etc giving love and helping to care for the next generation ❤️💕❤️

My goal is to teach them to be an independent and problem solving learner. Students will be guided through intensive, yet engaging and fun sessions. I'll help to improve your child's learning in the areas they find challenging or extend them in areas where they may already excel. I have experience working with children with additional needs and will tailor an individual program to suit your child's needs.

School is officially out for summer, meaning the stress + anxiety that this tired teacher felt all year will hopefully be fading away soon 🙌🏻 Lack of stress & exhaustion means its time to zone in, buckle up, and crush some goals 👊🏻
I have big goals for weight loss, fitness, + business, and I can’t wait to have some more time now to really focus on them. Starting by keeping my hydration game on point by drinking my #waterfirst in a bottle with the cutest mermaid decal from @bwamonogram 😊
What kind of person are you? Do you like to set goals in the summer?
My kiddos brought home these little notes home to their dad's this weekend! Each student write why their dad is the best!! They ended up writing some really sweet things!! .
I mounted and laminated each one, then stuck a magnet on the back. An easy, perfect gift for Dad!
Happy Father's day to all the dads out there! Hope it's a good one!
When the classroom inspiration hits...it hits hard. Here is the aftermath of a late night/couldn’t sleep/over the top @amazon purchase. Y’all. I can’t even explain how excited I am about my new things for my classroom. It is going to be PERFECTION. Disclaimer: I know this over the top but I had to share.
