Yesterday’s workout, 100 stairs in the beautiful mountains of El Salvador, along with walking around all day doing activities! I must say it’s so hard being here and making wise eating choices when the varieties aren’t as great whenever we go visit the churches. However, I know it’s all about adapting and overcoming. I’m so thankful for my friends here who have brought me avocado, paterna, fresh coconut water, and other whole foods whenever the junk food is in abundance. Can’t wait to get back to Nashville and start my workout routine though — running around all day does not compare to a nice lift and cardio session.

Got up today feeling very tired and uninspired I don’t know why 🤷🏾♀️
But I know as a coach I have to show up and that means I get it done even if I’m tired (just go to bed earlier) because If I’m holding others accountable then I have to be accountable to myself too and being a part of the community of coaches and hosting these challenge groups has really helped me to stay focused and motivated.

If you’re traveling for long periods of time and your workout routine is suffering because of it, do yourself a favor and take care of your backside.
Just like stretching will do your body good; band work will do your booty good. 🍑 Your glutes are connected to your lower back, hips, and hamstrings. • Sleep - I talk a lot about the importance of sleep and being away is the perfect time to get it in. Sleep in, siesta and snooze! ⠀
• Explore - exploring is not only a great way to stay active, but a great way to learn more about where you’re staying. Plus, you’ll be able to find more local foods 😍⠀
• Relax - book yourself some me time! I LOVE TO READ! So I spend a free hours each morning reading and relaxing. ⠀
• Switch things up - This refers to everything! Use your time away to try new things. For example; try hiking or yoga instead of usual weights session or try cutting out meat, dairy or pasta. It doesn’t matter what you choose, just try something new. ⠀

I brushed my teeth this morning, and then bit into a snickers immediately after. 😬 .
I actually opened the fridge, grabbed the eggs, saw the snickers in the door and said ‘nah, I’m good.’ I put the eggs on the counter and said to myself ‘no, fuck that. This is LIFE.’
It was actually kind of a pivotal moment in my day, because it is, it is LIFE. There is only one of those for me. One life. One giant string of choices, and someday I won’t be able to make those choices anymore.
And today, I chose the snickers.
I chose the snickers because I wanted to taste the chocolate melt in my mouth and the caramel stick to my teeth and the peanuts crunch as I bit through it. .
I chose the snickers.
And I don’t feel bad about it.
I don’t feel bad about it because I know how to exercise self control and I have the scientific knowledge to understand that one bite of a snickers bar doesn’t all of a sudden make me fat, or less than, or ‘imperfect’.
It is not going to ruin my day, or my goals.
In fact, this once in a while sweet treat moment actually made me feel stronger, which you wouldn’t expect... but it did. Not to mention, I got to start my day with a SNICKERS BAR.
So HELLO WEDNESDAY.. let’s DO THIS SHIT. 💪🙌🏻

We work daily on finding ourselves in the company and get better by the day.
✅Get out of our comfort zone - Check!
Started with a one way ticket from Sweden and we’re not planing on settling anywhere for a while.
✅Spend more time together - Check!
Gone from spending only a couple of hours a day together (eating breakfast or dinner) to now spending the whole days together is amazing ❤️

I love fitness. I love travelling. How do I sustainably combine both? I spend most of my travels on the road in a van or in the woods in a tent, away from society and accessible gyms. Usually the only exercise I get in on trips is hiking. I miss the weight and feeling my muscles building. Starting early 2020 I’ll be living in a van on the road for months.. HOW am I going to stay in shape in the middle of nature?? 100 reps of body weight squats everyday isn’t going to cut it 🤦🏻♀️ I’m throwing this out here because I’d love to create a usable program for nomads, frequent flyers, van lifers, or any gym rat on vacation, who need something while they are away from their fitness routine, short or long term. It’s about utilizing the resources you have around you to build functional strength, power, and mobility. This is step one - WHO’S IN?
HOW TO STAY FIT WHILE TRAVELING??
This is probably the most asked question I get from you guys. And I've seem to have cracked the code to what works for my body. So here goes.........
1. INDULGE IN ACTIVITIES 🧗♂️🏄♀️🏊♀️🚴♀️
I make sure I indulge in some new activities which are super streneous but also super fun. Like hiking to a stunning view point, long uphill treks, full day of snorkeling, cycling or walking around neighborhoods etc. I usually get fitter during my travels coz I make sure to add atleast 3 days of streneous activities in a week to my travel plans. Yes of course! Others days I laze by pool, but after I burn em calories! 💪🏼🔥
2. EAT 2/3 MEALS A DAY 🍲🌮🥗
I usually do only 2 meals a day, which are full hearty healthy meals (I opt for healthy options as much as possible, but I am also not that fussy and eat almost anything when traveling). Just avoid 'random meals' and 'snacking', and stick to 2/3 full meals only.
3. EASY ON THE BOOZE & SUGAR🍹🍻
I call it empty calories 😁 Well I know a chilled cocktail by the pool is so inviting right? Well I say... Go for it! You are on a vacation for heavens sake! 😆 But if your goal is to get/stay fit, you will have to go easy on it! Also, i OPT FOR WATER, rather than a soda to quench my thirst.
4. GET THE VITAMIN D ☀️😎
When I am traveling I love being out in the sun. Vitamin D helps your body to absorb all the other nutrients in your body and leaves you feeling happier and healthier. 🤸♀️
5. ME TIME ON THE MAT 🧘♀️✨
I usually squeeze in quick easy workouts (I'm crazy about core workouts) and some yoga sessions (it really clears my head) in my room OR an outdoor space. So carry your yoga mat if you can on a trip! It's always a nice feeling to roll out that mat, block the world, and get that ME TIME!
